Exclamation Manual transmission = HIGH RPM on highway??

Hey guys...ive had my IS for about a year and a half now and ive always wondered if my RPM's on the highway are normal??...when im cruising at 60 mph in 5th gear (which is slow) my RPM's are 2900....when im cruising at 70 mph in 5th gear they are at 3100 and when im driving like a normal person at 80 mph my RPM's are at 3400 and i can basically whatch my fuel needle drop...lol...is this normal..and if so...can running the car at 3400 RPM do any damage to the engine if im driving for lets say 30 mins?
any info appreciated

those rpms sound around right... it's the way our gearing is set-up
should be no problems running at that speed for extended periods
do it all of the time on road trips..!
