Default Rattles from the Subwoofer

Hey guys

So I finally got back my car after 3.5 weeks of repair at the bodyshop. It went by very slow, but im happy i finally got the car back. When I listen to loud music (have a sub in the trunk), there is only one noticable rattle... and thats with the fuel tank door. Everytime the sub kicks, the fuel door shakes out, causing a very annoying noise when listening to it outside. When i put my hand on the door and push inwards, the noise is gone. Do you guys have any possible idea at what I could do to fix this?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nothing to do with the fuel door... got into a wreck in the front (i have a previous thread with pictures)... its been there before the crash, i just never thought it was such a big deal.

Now i really want to remove it somehow

Ohhh... i see, do you have a sub in the trunk which creates the same problem? Also, is there any charge to that?

i have the same problem, if you look at it, the door is held closed with a pin that goes into a much larger slot when its closed. Therefore leaving alot of room around that pin, so it rattles and hits the sides of the larger hole, only thing i could tell you is to try and fill half of that hole with somthing rubber, or just cover the outsides of the larger slot/hole so it hits somthing soft rather than the plastic on plastic.

just take a look at it, you'll understand when you see it

Yeah I get exactly what your saying. I guess I'll try playing around with that... Do you have any idea on what I should use? I know this is all creativity here hahaha

Thanks

Spend some time putting Dynomat on your fuel tank door might work. Alot of little creases but a well thought out application may not look so bad.

What is Dynomat? Sorry if that is a stupid question haha...

I believe the problem lies with the pin not securing the fuel door as much as is required.

Thanks

Ohhh I see I see... WhiteHotIS, when you say your fuel door was tightened, did they put something in the box where the pin which secures the fuel door goes when closed?

Could you please check for me because thats the only logical thing I have for this rattle.

Thanks

yea you coudl try to get a small thing of dynomat, and try lining the hole, so it rattles agienst a cushion, instead of the plastic, ORRR, try to find somthign with a sticky side and a soft side so u could line the hole with that.

Just a few ideas.

I know its the hole, its not the door itself, lol. soo annoying
