LA Auto Show Project SportCross
The LA Auto Show is building a "tuned" Lexus IS 300 SportCross to promote the aftermarket part of the show. An entire exhibit hall at the LA Auto Show is dedicated to aftermarket companies, including performance parts, accessories, mobile electronics and more.
I've posted some images in the IS Gallery. At present, modifications to the SportCross include:
- SpectraFlair Paint
- Volk Racing Wheels & Yokohama Tires from Wheel Warehouse
- Intrax Springs
- Tokico Adjustable Dampers
- Icon TV Monitors from Automotive Entertainment
- Yakima Rack System from Gear On The Go
- Paint Protection Film from Star Shield
- Graphics by Modern Image
We still need to complete the A/V system with Earthquake amps, a subwoofer, etc. - and there may be a few more upgrades by the time the car is shown at the 2002 LA Auto Show. A complete story on the car will be featured on http://www.laautoshow.com after December 1. Better yet, come to the 2002 LA Auto Show and see it for yourself!

From day 1 I've always liked the Sportcross.
Finally I'll be able to attend the show relaxed. This year, CES in Las Vegas is mid-week So I'll have two weekends to go to the show!

The story behind the car is now up at www.laautoshow.com/project.asp - including details of the parts used to build this project car and their suppliers. An update will go live, including links to contributors, enhanced photos, etc., within the next week or so; so check back often.
The car will make its official public debut at the 2002 LA Auto Show - January 5-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. For those of you that would like to save some money, discount coupons are available at Los Angeles area new car dealers and at participating Southern California Chevron stations. More info - www.laautoshow.com.
Hope to see you there!
