Crazy x,

If you are gonna stay in legal reange remember that the IS 300 already has a 6% tint on the windows. so if your getting a 38% tint (Has a nice look to it) you are really getting a 32%. I delt with a company called Solar shad, They use LLumar film. It has a nice clarity to it, and looks like a true tint I will have to dig up the price but it was well worth it.

Yeah, so how do I know what a good tint is? I'm sure that if I ask a shop if they have good tint, they're all going to say yes. What's the stuff that will look dark outside, but easy to see out of at night?

Also, what % would you recommend on a silver IS? I don't want it too dark since the silver is a light color.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

well on a silver is it all depends.. Have you seen the silver tint that fades. It is silver at the bottom and gets darker as it goes up. THat might look pretty tight. The best way is to find out what kind of guarantee they have, and look at previous work. If others liked their work then it is a safe bet. Also check with your dealer out there see who they would recoment. I would not go any lighter then 38%. the 38% plus 6% gives the car a nice look at least on the graphite grey. Most tinting places jump from 38% to 28 % just remember at night it does get a little difficult to see out the back window cause your furher from it with 28%. The way I would do it don't rush in research how it would look. once you know what you want check out the different shops ( get a lifetime Wrrantee). Just remember it is tough to take off the rear window so only do it once.

Check out the sliver fade tint if its not out there ask if they can get it. I think it would look tight. I have not seen a is with it yet.

Default Tint

I just did my Silver IS in 28% LLumar Platinum, I drive alot at night and this works out just right. 28% is legal in SoFla on front windows. I could have gone darker on back but like that balanced look.
