I love the idea, but I think the execution is a bit ugly... i'd have to see it in person to make a good assessment, but if it is really nice I may trade in my IS300 so I can get the extra cargo room i so badly need. I wonder how much weight it adds to the car

I would've considered it had it been available in the 2001 model year. As it stands now, I've simply got too much into my current IS to trade it in.
I do like the practicality of the added cargo space. You could probably make it as sporty as the sedan w/careful aftermarket parts selection.
