Question

hello everyone,
my IS300 is still really new, and unfortunately, when my parents got the car for me, they also bought a 7 yr warranty and told me i couldnt do any engine work..
( i had had a camry before and really suped it up alot..)
so, i was wondering what is ur opinion of the BLITZ drop in air filter..??? will it just help the car breathe better? or will it do nothing at all??
Blitz claims that it can increase hp by 2-4, and although i know that that proly isnt the case, ( maybe 1hp at most), i was just wondering if i got it, would it help or hurt my car.... the last thing i want to do is slow down my IS300.
well, thanks for ur inputs..

I've had the Blitz filter in my IS for almost two months now. Gains of 1-2 hp is probably realistic, although some have reported 2-4 hp. Most gains are probably in the high end.

It's a good product. It is made of a material that is less dense than the OEM material and it is designed w/less pleats. This may be the reason for the greater air flow.

The benefit is that it uses all the OEM intake plumbing and does not add any noise to the engine.

I got this filter instead of replacing the OEM filter which was already dirty.

thanks for your input
do u feel that your starting acceleration is slower with the dropin intake?
some people claim that the start is slower..although i think it is the same and some people are paranoid.

Acceleration improved, but that may be a function of my exhaust as well.

I tried to find a K&N filter for months, but it currently is not available for the IS at this time. If there is info that it is available, I would like to know.
