Just wanted to introduce myself. Great looking forum.

I'll be picking up the IS300 later today. They had to detail and put on the spoiler and chrome wheels.
Can't wait...

Drove the dealers demo IS300 last night. Put it to "the test". I'm very impressed. Glad I didn't have to do it to mine....

Performance mods. to come...

Welcome, Rich. Congrats on your new purchase. Which spoiler is the dealer installing on your IS?

I see you have a fast truck. I am not familiar with that truck show scene. Perhaps you can enlighten us sometime.

Hey, welcome. I still haven't driven an IS yet - I'm going to the dealership tomorrow (i'm having a wood/leather shifter installed), maybe I'll see if I can get a testdrive

The spoiler is hard to explain. Seems to be a dealer option. The demo last night had one. Looks nice.
I'll post a pic. of it this weekend if you're interested.

I do have one question. What's the "Power" button for. I guess it got my interest....

As far as the truck goes, it's quite a ride. 475+HP yet civil enough to drive around. Really ticks off car drivers to get whipped by a truck. Run's a 13 flat - 1/4 mile only because I can't drive...

TampaSVT, that is quite a nice truck and....uh...LOT of horsepower. The Lightning has bad gas mileage stock, I can't imagine how bad it is on that one. Although I'll bet the look on the drivers of sports cars faces is priceless when you beat them!!!

When you switch into "power mode" via the "power" button it simply holds each gear longer so that you can accelerate faster. Part of having a computer controlled transmission. Do you have the snow mode too?

I leave the pwr button on all the time... Ive never had to use the snow button and probably never will... unless a blizzard hits southern cali.

I agree I leave pwr button on all the time.,... I guess this button will soon become useless after the turbo or SC get put in... that in itself will be my power button.. all the time.. heheehe
but yea it allows the car to shift at higher Rpms. so on and so forth...

Yeah, there seems to be a snow button too. Like I'll need that in FL..

IS300 in the driveway when I got home.

I used my "snow mode" for the first time (and only time -haven't had the RX very long) on New Year's day. Here in Georgia we got just enough snow to cover the ground and I was up before 8am b/c I was i'll at the stomach. So, I took out my dad's GMC Z-71 truck to scan over the roads then came back home to get my RX. The traction control and snow mode were perfect for navigating in the snow. The vehicle would start off in 2nd gear and keep me from slipping. I had a great at time...there weren't many people on the road.

Live in Washington, never used "snow". My "pwr" is always on. Trac is on and off depending on the rain.

I use Power on dry roads, Normal on wet ones, and Snow on icy or snowy roads, we get it all up here!

A guy I know goes onto the downtown streets at nights (3-4AM) when no ones around and just fishtails his car around every corner, rallying through the downtown streets stupid but nice! hes doin this in his RX-7 He built up himself, he also built a 400HP N/A rotary engine out of the stock engine!

Well, drove it this morning and I think I'll keep it....

Question:

I know with the Lightnings and some other vehicles, it actually gets stronger as it breaks in.
Did anyone notice this with the IS300?

I guess it has something to do with the vehicle loosening up and "learning" your driving habits.

Just curious....
