SRT vs PLP Silent Flow
i am looking into purchasing either one of these intakes. i have been reading great things about both intakes but i have read that with the PLP Silent Flow you lose hardly any low end power where with the SRT you lose low end but gain a significant amount of high end.
i am leaning toward the SRT intake but any help with this would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I have the PLP and I'm pretty happy with it. I did not feel that it lost much if at all on the bottom end. The top did feel a little better but truly without any kind of fuel/air management, I did not expect a lot. Part of the install was to disconnect the battery. Of course this resets the ECU so the car did feel responsive after that. It is pretty quiet.
I don't have first hand experience first hand with the SRT but I've heard (on here) good results and neutral (no gains) results. It is louder.
I guess it all depends on how sensitive you are to your car changes. The SRT better be better since it cost more than twice the PLP.
Honestly, nothing short of FI will make the GS300 noticeably faster. You can get louder but not anything that will give you the confidence to race most cars you want to race. I'm not saying you are going to race. I'm just giving an example of the level of gain. The higher gearing of the the 300s definitely helps to make the most out of the power though. I've had 400 owners drive my car and was surprised by the responsiveness. Of course it is no 400 but it is not that bad either.

neo, GS300? isn't this the IS section?
joshlee, also remember that you need to do some slight soldering with the SRT intake...the PLP is a SUPER easy install, and looks basically stock. i love mine. it's also about 50% cheaper than the SRT. for me, i wanted something stock looking, easy install/removal, and relatively quiet. the PLP SFI fit all of those requirements...it's all a matter of what you want. if anything, i'd say get the PLP SFI or Joe Z intake+aftermarket filter, and put the money you saved towards an exhaust or sways.

i had the SRT w R ecu...
it is a great intake lots of power the most of any intake ...
tho an injen & a SAFC & about 200-250 in dyno time will get you past the SRT power level i think... if only slightly..
compared to the PLP.. .ther is no comparison.. .& the only time i hace heard an SRT NOT producing LOTS more power was with very 1st one & the piggyback ECU was not too agressive i guess.
the PLP/JoeZ is very basic &simple SRT definitely not for the faint of heart. but many folks here have installed them before & i am sure will help...
or just take it to LMW...

Love the sound, just makes it sound more aggressive when the throttle is open. At idle you can't even tell the car is on.
As for power ......... It's all good. I wouldn't say it's like putting a turbo on, but still a little noticable.
I would rather have a turbo, but can't afford that.
Well worth the investment. Had it on for over a year now & no problems what-so-ever.
Install took about an hour, it's true you have to soder the wires for the ECU, but the instructions are easy to follow & very clear. It's a snap.
If you have the money ......... go w/ the SRT!
