Need some tuning help (especially from PLP Vortech owners)
Yesterday I went to my dyno shop for what was supposed to be my final dyno tuning session. I was eager to find out how much power I would be putting down and see how I compared to other Vortech kit owners. I was hoping to make 300whp+ like many of them, but it turned out that I wasn't even close.
My tuner and I are truly confused, and he wasn't sure where we could be losing power. The car is running well now on the streets, with no more misfires or detontation that I had a couple months ago; and no more CEL for over 500 miles now. The car is very drivable. So I'm hoping you guys here can help out determine what's wrong/different with other setups.
Here's my setup:
* 2003 Auto (w/ VB upgrade)
* PLP Vortech kit @ 7psi (stock injectors w/ 1100cc 7th (according to Kane))
* Toyomoto gen 1 header
* XERD race pipe
* HKS Dragger II exhaust
* Walbro 255lph fuel pump
* EMS's = E-Manage, SplitSec AIC (for 7th injector), SplitSec ESC1
Other Vortech kit owners have achieved 300whp with similar setups.
Here's how the car is tuned right now:
* We have a 11.5:1 to 12:1 AFR from 3500 to around 5500 RPM
* It leans out close to 13:1 AFR from 5500 RPM to redline, but no pinging/detonation
* Tried adjusting injectors with E-Manage and AIC1, but AIC seemed to be maxed out and it didn't seem like E-Manage changes had any affect (overall, seems like the injectors are maxed out and I shouldn't have maxed out the 7th injector)
* Igntion timing is retard by -2 degrees from around 3500 RPM to redline from about 30% TPS, otherwise the car would run a little above 12:1 AFR
* I don't think my EGTs ran hotter than 800 degrees C during pulls
* Tuning params: 91 octane gas, 75-80 degrees F, Dynojet dyno
So what I'd like to know from other Vortech owners (and I guess other supercharged owners) is:
* Can you please send me your E-Manage maps just for comparison? (please PM me and I can give you my email address)
* Do you have AFRs of ~12:1 through the power band?
* Are you advancing igntion timing?
* What octane did you run to achieve 300+whp?
* Are you also running the NKG Iridium BKR7EIX-11 gapped at .028-.030?
* Are you using the stock igntion system? Or running an MSD?
* Are you using the stock fuel system or have an upgraded pump?
What else can I do other than advance timing to get more power? Any suggestions from anybody?!? Please help.

Thanks Henry. I'm sure I'll figure things out eventually. I'm not complaining about the power I have added though. The car already feels much faster than stock.
I have a few ideas of what may be wrong, but I don't really have the time or money to deal with it right now. I still may stop by Exact sometime tomorrow or later this week to speak to John. I think my problem is related to fuel pressure. I hypothesize that if I can determine or increase my fuel pressure, then I can richen up my A/F mixture to the point where I can safely advance ignition timing. As a result of that, I should hit 300whp.
The car drives well right now, so I don't want to stress out about why I'm not breaking 300whp. Right now, I need to find a house!!!

Perhaps larger injectors will help?
