Default Oil Filter Relocation Kit

Hello Everyone,

My IS300 is still under 3K miles, but I'd like to know
if any of you have the oil filter relocation kit.
Is it recommended since the oil filter is in
an unfriendly position.
And if you do, what brands are reliable and of
high quality? Does it change the engine sound
in anyway? (Been told that it makes a hissing sound).

Thanks in advance.

J

I agree, changing the filter would be a breeze with a relocater....I believe greddy is the only option and a few people have it and say only good stuff, heard of one issue but it was installed incorrectly (instructions are in jap).

I've been wondering if the HKS oil filter relocation kit would work, such as the one installed on this 2JZ-GTE swap:

TeamLexus has an oil filter relocation kit implemented on all of their cars. For accessibility reasons as well.

Do you know what kit? Or was it custom made?

Personally, I've never had an easier car to to an oil change. The oil filter can be removed from inside the engine compartment by gently moving the engine over towards the passenger side with a short pry bar. The oil filter should slip right up next to the engine cover. Remember to put a couple towels down inbetween the frame rails and the pry bar and again, more towels between the pry bar and the intake manifold. The engine only needs to move about half an inch or so, which is way less than what your mounts give under heavy tq. Give it a try next time you do your oil change. Oh, remember to leave that fancy film over the business end until you have it in the area.

single shot.

Don't know what kit. It looks like a universal one that was implemented.
