1st Gear Hesitation (5-Speed) After Warm Start
I have an 03 IS 5-speed with about 17K on it. I commute 15 miles each way to work. My car sits in the office lot, (parked far away from other cars) most of the day. When I go to leave work (engine is cold) and accelerate I get a hesitation in 1st gear. I've told the dealer this, they have not been able to recreate, and they say it is the computer protecting the engine. I'm not hammering the gas (yet) until the car is fully warmed up. I can't figure it out.
P.S. - I'm on my second clutch because I was getting slippage at 7K, covered under warranty. They thought that there was oil getting on the flywheel causing the slippage... I learned standard on a RX-7 2nd gen. and know how to drive, match revs, double clutch, heel/toe...
Is the 5-speed a sensitive piece to the car? What's going on?
