High pitch sound?
To All,
This morning when I'd turn on the heater on the car, there is a high pitch sound coming from the passenger side vent. I was wondering if anyone of you experience this problem. It sound like the fan came loose or something. I would like to take the car into the dealer. I want to make sure to tell them what specifically to look for, intead of having them go on a wild fishing trip. I dont want them coming back to me telling me that they can't figure out what's causing the fan to sound like that.
Thanks to everyone.

Is your sound ONLY with the heater fan on? My IS300 gets a high-pitch sound that sounds somewhat like a whistle but only at cold temps....say, below 32 or so....and it varies with engine and road speed, not necessarily the heater fan. It's no big deal...comes and goes.
Does adjusting the vent slats affect the sound any in your car? If it isn't serious, I wouldn't worry about your sound, especially if it is intermittent and does not affect the actual heat supply ( or airflow ) in the car.

yes just with the heater on. It does sound like a whistle and I noticed the temp was 30 or 32 degrees this morning.
