Hey guys, I don't have an IS300, but I was asked by a friend on mine to find out what he should do to his... I own a Single Turbo RX-7 (400RWHP) and know my share of info on imports and turbos systems, however information on the IS seems to be sparse. Untill I came here that is...

Anyhow, my friend was looking for an upgrade path and is wondering the best mods and from which makers.

He wants to go with a Level 10 Torque Convertor, TRD Suspension (a la Turbo Mag build up), RMM intake/exhaust, and eventually get a Turbo/SC system.

Any words of advise? Also and links for Parts, Tuners and the like will help a lot!

Thanks!

just different manufacturese

for the intake, go with Swift-Racing

For the exhust, you might want to try 5zigen also i think GReddy will have something soon

and for the TC go with Precision Industries Dragon, 3000RPM stall instead.

that should get his HP up to about 245 flywheel

for the suspension go with either TEIN coils or HKS coils, that is if you want coil-overs.

if you stick your car on a dyno with a TC you should see torqe gains at the rear wheels at lower RPM (or so precision industries told me)

a TC is = to a clutch except for automatic transmission.

Your TC has a set stall speed, the speed the Engine Speed matches the Tranny Speed. Any time before this the TC slips so that your engine a) wont stall or b) will get into the power range. A new TC has a higher stall speed so its like dropping the clutch at 3000RPM (the best stall speed for lexus) instead of 1500 or so. You can ask the designers of your TC to make the stall speed from 3000-3200. 3200 would be best for racing, it would feel like the TC was slipping all the time. also the TC has some sort of torque mulitplication??? don't ask me what that means.
