My car is absolutely perfect in snow with continental all-seasons tires.

Yes, all-seasons can vary quite a bit from brand to brand in traction capabilities. The IS300 comes from the factory with Bridgestone Potenza RE92's...an all-season with rather mediocre wet and snow-grip. I've had no real snow problems with them, driving gently the way I posted, but then again I don't drive a whole lot in the snow....just what is absloutely necessary. Perhaps, as you suggest, a trip to the tire shop for Continentals might be in order for BlueIS05.

IMO the car doesn't handle all that great even with blizzaks. To get to my house you have to go up a not too high incline and I have had the IS get stuck on me when the road was covered in some slushy crap.

My parents have a 2001 LS430 (along with a set of snow tires) and it does much better in the snow than the IS.
