Maybe

1. Battery is no good.

2. The O2 sensor extension is touching at the top.

Get that code checked! It will give you a much better idea of what triggered this event.

For reference, I recently had the CEL & VSC lights on after installing my exhaust (still running stock headers). When I ran the code it came up with a P0031 which lead to bank 1 sensor 1 (upstream O2 sensor in the drivers side header). The code only went away once I replaced the sensor.

It drives fine with no problems, but i guess since i have the cel, it wont go into first gear. It would start in second gear.

Don't worry about the VSC and Traction lights. Those come on anytime the CEL does. Like mentioned before, get the codes read and go from there. Autozone/etc will read them for you for free.

Any auto part store will read the code for you but you might as well buy yourself an obd2 scanner if you have headers and exhaust.

A quick search of the forums says that's pointing to bank 1 sensor 1 (same sensor that was my problem). I'd take a look at the wire extensions on the drivers side header O2 and see if anything is loose or melting, first.
