Default Anyone with just PPE headers?

Is anyone running the PPE headers alone, without aftermarket exhaust?

1. Are you catted or catless? (primary cats)

2. How loud is the car?

3. How does the butt dyno feel?

Considering a bump in power here. (damn, that only took 2.5 years)

PPE Header install guide:

There were a few people running PPE headers on a stock system because they wanted the power but not the loudness. Without an exhaust, people usually go headers with cats becasue they don't want the gas smell or the loudness. The headers makes the car a tad bit louder, noticeable but not insanely loud. You will definetly feel it on the butt dyno.

I am waiting on the exhaust, so I have been running PPE headers only for about a month. No primary cats. Car is loud on a cold start but idles back down and mellows out. Just slightly louder overall when driving, but has a deeper tone. You can def feel the power added.

That sounds pretty awesome. Any bad smell as a result of no primary cats?

Any other observations you care to share?

Even with no cats the smell is not bad at all. With high flow cats you would get nothing, but would be robbing some power. I wanted all the power I can get which is why I went Catless. The workmanship on these headers is amazing and the gains are great. I would not hesitate to get them, you will certainly not be disappointed!

I usually roll with outside ventilation or windows down, is it pretty strong ?

2. Who installed it? I'm moving out East, I heard some people saying the dealership can do it.

I always go windows down and don't notice the smell at all. Only at idle from behind the car will you notice it, and only slightly at that. I had the install done by a very talented tech at Lexus of Edison in NJ. No issues and no lights at all.

Headers delete the primary cats. So no primary cats with headers. I don't believe anyone has installed cats on after market headers. You would be left with the secondary cats on the stock exhaust only.

Buddy of mine has silky no primary cat, stock mid and exhaust. Sound great and there really isn't a smell to it at all without the primary.

Sounds like the next step is to find a good installer/mechanic.

With or without CATS, that is the question. I have no issues pulling the trigger.
