Sometime ago I had an IS300 and because I did alot of highway travelling, i bought an actual fabric nose mask from Sewell Lexus to protect the bumper and hood from stone chips and even just bugs. It took like a minute to put on and take off and only had it on during travelling, once i got to the destination it came off.

Is there a similar option for the F? I do have the clear film protector applied already, but after travelling for thousands of miles my front bumper and hood will become a huge cemetery for bugs!

Any ideas are welcomed!

I have a clear bra. Its self healing. You can scratch it with a BBQ brush and it heals with sun light and heat. Freakn awesome for track days when you are chasing a Viper with steam roller tires who keeps kicking up little rocks. LOL windshield looks horrible though

I also have the clear bra, I have a temporary clear tape as well from my show car days. I think it's made by griots garage

Just the one that I have. I think there are only 2 self healing film o the market. I think the kit was $795 at the dealership.

There is also the spray on stuff, 3M paint defender. It dries clear similar to clear bra and you peel it off like plastidip. Seems like it would be good for protection during a road trip, even if you are spraying it over an existing clear bra. Double-bagging.

I used 3M painter's tape when I took the car to Canada. Taped the entire front end halfway up the hood. Got stuck in a heavy downpour and the tape stayed on. Did a great job, came off with no residue as well.

cant imagine someone owning a car this nice with no clear bra. The hood must look like a starry night

^There is literally no place within any reasonable distance of me that will apply a clear bra to just to front bumper for less than $1200. At that price I might as well get the thing resprayed every couple of years.

I do still have clear bra from previous owner on the hood, although it is beginning to show its age.

Clear bra is the way to go.

That's pretty sweet! Even if i had that stuff on my hood, i don't think i'd want to try scratching it and seeing if it will fix itself lol

3M Painters tape sounds like a good idea, just takes a bit to apply...and great that there is no residue left after!

I don't have a clear bra either. My quote was about $1k. At that price I'll just get the hood repainted when it becomes unbearable.

Anyway, clear bra is the way to go! I also have the 3M self-healing clear bra on my fenders, front bumper cover and the hood. The 101 freeway here is under construction so there's tons of crap flying up all over the place. I've had my windshield on my Tundra replaced twice in 6 months.
