Default Isf 2013 and 2014 bbs OEM wheels

Hello
Ive done some research and I find tire sites and others to not be accurate on this

are the 2013 and 2014 oem isf wheels the exact same?

I remember reading that they changed the tire size since 2008 to add a little more meat
I can't recall which year they did this for sure

can anyone recall?

thanks kindly

Ive read on lexus enthusiast that in 2012 they switched to 265s on the rears
but most places I can find now say that for 2013 and 2014 they are running 255s on the rear

can any wheel experts confirm?

In 2012, the wheel widths were increased by 1/2 inch (front & back).

2012+ wheels widths increased by 1/2 inch front and rear. Tires sizes did not change and remain the same as 2008-2011.

I don't remember anything about tire sizes changing, but 2012-2014 are the same wheels. The tires from factory did vary, either Michelin PS2 or Bridgestone RE050A, but I'm pretty sure the sizes were 225/40/19 255/35/19 throughout all years.

Exact specs on wheels (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

2008-2011: Design changed in 2010 but width and offset remained the same.
19x8 +45
19x9 +55

2012-2014:
19x8.5 +45
19x9.5 +51

great thanks guys.

can someone enlighten me on why they changed the wheel width and not the tire size for the 2012-2014 wheels?

what would be the benefit of this?

and I believe I read that the 2012+ wheels will fit on an 08 isf with no issues
is this correct?

thanks again

I've seen numerous '08-'11 IS F owners with the '12+ wheels, and it mounts straight on without issue, despite the increase in width and change in the offset in the rear. I can't speculate as to why the tire size remained the same, but just with the earlier wheel options, owners opted to upsize in tire sizes and have reported positive feedback as a result.

If you do decide to do the 2012+ wheels, think about up sizing to 245 front and 275 rears.

Running PSS in those sizes and they fit perfect, like it was meant from factory. The stock 225/255 tires looked stretched on the wider 2012+ wheels.

Personally if I had the extra 0.5" from the 2012+ wheels I would run ADVAN Sport V105 in 255/35R19 and 285/30R19. They score right up there with the PSS, but have the 285mm size you can't get with the PSS.

That's a lot of tire for a rim not so wide. I'm running 2014 wheels with 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 PSS. They fit like factory and work nicely.

Yes, you're right. The 2012+ rim widths are the narrowest rim widths recommended to mount 255/35R19 and 285/30R19 tires.

Although when you compare it to those of us running 245/35R19 and 275/30R19 tires on the 2008-2011 rims, you are only adding 10mm of tire width compared to 12.7mm of wheel width.

I'm sure the sizes you are running are closer to optimal for the wheel width though...for maximum lateral stability.
