PSS in 275/30 are on "nationwide backorder"- just got the call from tire place. I switched my order to Continental Extreme DW. Pretty good reviews and ratings.

^^^^I did NOT like the set of Continental Extreme DW at all. See this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...xtreme-dw.html

However I am quite pleased with my Bridgestone S-04:

Thank you.

I read your thread and then read 100+ other reviews on tire rack - hoping your noise issue was a a fluke.

Noise aside - it seemed like you were really happy with the performance?

I was tempted by the Michlelin Pilot AS with the amazing tread wear. My concern was grip at the track or even on the streets. Just hoping I get at least 15k out of this new set. Another 7200 mile replacement and I think I will switch to another tire

I'm in a dilemma guys, my tires are running pretty low on thread and I ordered the PSS four months ago and they're still on backorder.. Any suggestion on tires to upgrade to or on the same level?

They've been on a recurring sale for a long time now, but it is only $70 off the set. The current sale expires May 10 but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back.

Bridgestone RE11s are a good alternative but are actually a bit more expensive without the discount.

I've wondered about the Continental Extreme DWs as well as an alternative to the Bridgestone S04s. I know they don't rate quite as well on tirerack, or here, but they are 4-5 lbs lighter per tire.

Also, I have about 20k on my PSS and still have between 5/32" and 6/32" tread left. I guess I need to stop driving like an old woman.

Based on what I read online, the DWs get you 95% of PSS grip but suffer from soft(ish) sidewall (which makes it less responsive). Benefits are awesome wet performance, softer ride, lighter and about $300 cheaper than PSS.

I have re'11 currently, love the tires but terrible in wet conditions & they wear out way too fast. Continental eh...

If you have enough tread left, I'd say wait for your PSS. They're the best dry/wet tires I've ever owned. Plus they're quiet so you won't loose the comfort.

I am however currently on the Pilot AS3's though. I no longer have winter tires so I find these to be a satisfactory substitute.

after 10000 miles did anyone notice their PSS get very noisey?
I had an alignment done when I got the tires but from low speed up to 50-60mph it has the whirling sound - only sounds like the front too ...

I had winter tires on before this and those were far more quiet

All I would say is that the limiting factor of what the entire chassis is the tires. Buy the best.
