Default Rear Sway Swap

So Saturday I'm gonna be trading in my 2009 Awd IS250 and picking up my 2012 ISF. My problem is that I want my Fsport rear sway off the 250 for the F but no longer have the stock sway. I want to have the mechanic swap the two out at the dealer but the salesman said the mechanics don't think the ISF sway will fit the 250. What are your thoughts ?? I'm 99 percent sure I think it will fit!

The regular 2IS forum probably has the answer more quickly than us. I would be surprised if somebody hasn't picked up a used ISF sway bar and at least tried to bolt it onto their 250 at some point.

Don't worry, my friend it will fit just fine. The rear F-Sport sway that all us F guys use, was originally made for the AWD IS250. I sold my ISF bar to a fellow with an IS350 RWD and he loved it.

However, depending on the age of your F and the climate, you may have problems removing and reusing the end links.

I was under the impression that the ISF comes stock with sways which are the same as the F-sport sway made for ISx50 cars. Basically there is no advantage to installing the f-sport sway on an ISF. Am I wrong?

^^^^Yes, here's I chart I made up a few years ago. I got the information by crawling under some ISs and measuring at the dealers. They thought I was nuts, but they let me do it. You are correct about the front sway bar, it's the same dimensions as the F-Sport. The rear F-Sport, however, is larger than the iSF bar. It also goes straight across, rather than humps like the stock ISF bar. The hump is due to some foreign markets that use a full sized spare.

But that hump doesn't affect it fitting the IS, right Lou?

^^^^Nope, as I said, the hump is only for some foreign IS's that come with a different trunk pan to house a spare tire. North American ISs including the ISF have a space saver spare and the trunk pan that works with the F-Sport straight bar.
