Had some kid in a 335i pace me a few months ago, at that evening I had a passenger with me. (Passenger owns a 450 hp Evo 9)

70 MPH.......the kid kept up for about 3 seconds, then I walked away from him and left him somewhere in the middle of last week.

He came back with the "I lost the race, but can't admit I lost, so I will fly by you".

LOL, noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I had a passenger in my car, who happened to own a 450 hp Evo, he wanted to see what happens to the 335i, so I let the V8 monster loose...........the 335i gunned his engine and kept up for about 3 seconds, after that it was over.

I've noticed that the guys in the 335's will not even try to mess with me. I like to drop a few gears and pace them to see if they will play but they never even try ( even when they are really young )

Tune and a down-pipe on a 335i will allow them to murder you, though, so be wary. Case-in-point, there was one running at the track about a year ago, it was doing 11s at 123mph, which is significantly faster than an ISF with exhaust.

335's were always the ones that wanted to race me. More than M3's.

Trapping 120+ is more than dp/tune.
I raced a FBO JB4 135 (n55) on e85 mix and took him by 2 car lengths (40 roll).
I also raced a FBO JB4 135 (n54) w/unknown fuel mods and was dead even until triple digits where the ISF started to pull away (40 roll).

Long story short: it may be an impressive feat, but the cars simply don't hold up.
If you wanna beat a bmw that is marginally faster than you, ask for 5 consecutive races.
By the fourth race, the bimmer will be misfiring and expansion-tank galore.
I could turn the boost up on my Evo and kill the ISF...I'll just need it to be towed afterwards.

Really, tune and downpipe and you are in 11's? Please provide the URL to that freak of a car, can't wait to see it.

im in the military but I think its just in every military dudes head to buy the best and fastest car they can and race everyone...

so far this is my list of races...

ISF VS Challenger R/T I/H/E= wasted my gas.. about 2 car length isf win
ISF VS STI Hatch I/H COBB 2.. = STI ripped me out of the hole but I creeped up about 70 mph then started to walk after
ISF VS RX7 single turbo = from a dig ISF mutilates the 7/ from a roll 7 was about the same.. I think faster than the 7
ISF VS E39 M5 straight pipe = OMG the loudest and most bad *** race I have ever been.... ISF walked top end but still a magnificent sound!
ISF VS SRT Charger = SRT got me on the top.... I have no idea why... but he got me...

after all the races we created a small crew in Trenton area... awesome peeps!

LOL, no way on god's green earth can you shave 2 seconds off qtr mile time with just dp/tune. Can't even do that on a GTR. Judging from your response you probably don't know anything about ISF's, since they can't be tuned. I give respect where it's due, 335i's are beasts when tuned (with more mods) and can beat the ISF, but are also way less reliable.

Don't know why I typed tune, but I know that they're not 123 mph cars even with headers. And the mods were per the owner, who I saw run the 11.9@123.

Not the same one, but this guy was running 11.829@117.86 with only a tune, for those that think that 11 seconds for a 335i isn't possible.

The E46's don't even bother with me.

I sometimes yank it in neutral and play with the throttle since I love the engine note.

You did forget to mention that he's running a high mix of E85 & has a custom tune by Terry from BMS himself, along with the BMS backend flash & DCI. Not to mention his 335iS (not the standard 335i) has the rare option of having the M3's 7-speed dual clutch tranny. That is a bit far from just slapping on an off-the-shelf tune then running 11's at the track. If it was that simple, I , along with the rest of the members on E90post would have all been in the 11's with just the tune. Then those monthly dealership visits would have REALLY been worth it

It's still a 335i with a tune, no? It doesn't matter who tuned it, since it is up to the owner to get the best tune possible. Who goes and gets a poor tune? And even with that power and transmission, not everyone is going to be running 11s. It takes a good driver, but this shows it's still possible in a 335i.

I had an encounter with someone's new ISF when I was in my previous GTO. It seems the louder headers egged him on because he was set on racing me. Poor guy's ego was thoroughly crushed after I put a good couple of buslengths on him, since I don't think he expected me to have mid 500rwhp.
