Money is not the biggest factor as me and my wife are pretty good about saving up. But it was more about will the isf be able to handle baby duty and whether someone else would trade it to get rid of having a payment in general. Our combined car payments are equal to most of my close friends car payment for a single car but it was just that moment like it'll be nice to not even have a payment.

I plan to drive the car till it dies so reliability safety and ability to handle baby duty are the main things. The baby duty will only be maybe max 10 times a month as my wife has a SUV and we use that primarily.

I have owned both... you'll miss the F. I had a 2008 G8 GT... here are my thoughts.

The ride - It was about a smooth as a steam roller. It was HEAVY. Going into turns you could feel the weight of the car, it seriously felt like it wanted to push itself off the road if you took a turn at speed.

Stereo - sucked. I replaced mine pretty quickly. I actually traded my car in with the stereo in it I still regret that.

Power - Looks good on paper, but poorly executed. The power was so restricted it was barely faster than my GS350 from 0-60 even with the 6.0L V8 and all the power that came with it. I could floor it from a stop, a roll, from any speed and get no more than a little chirp from the tires. There is a difference on the upper end, though. After 60mph the G8 would still pick up speed, but the GS gets lazy in 4th gear. The G8 had no problem hitting the 140 mph limiter. With that big 'ol motor comes horrible mileage though. I normally drive 99% small town driving. Low speeds, a few signal lights, etc. on my way to work. There were times I'd average 12 mpg on my way to work. I'd regularly get only 180 miles on a tank of gas.

On top of all that, you have no navigation, no USB for easy music access, outdated everything...

I'd pass.

Keep the F.

I miss my GTO's (I'm a GM guy), but I had fun with them and after having the F I wouldn't go back.

Also, word of warning...that 4Runner is gonna get tight really quick when you guys have another kid.

I see a minivan in your future....I was fighting getting one for so long...we got rid of the 4Runner for an AWD Sienna and my wife and kids love it...

I would keep the ISF. Reliability is difficult to beat.

Lots of people have children and get by with cars that aren't ideal, the amount of time your kid will need a rear facing seat is very small compared to how long you could potentially have your ISF. I say keep it and just deal with it.

As others have stated, rear facing is no big deal unless you have people 6' that sit in the front while the baby is in the back.

I love the memory seat settings for this reason. #1 baby and front passenger, #2 baby only, #3 tall peeps no baby.

F all day, because you like it better. plus its exactly how you want it.. and like as others have stated, you have the 4runner for when you need room. great combo right there if you ask me.

g8 is cool for what it is. the f is just a nicer ride, and if you want to drive your dd heavily and into the ground, a lexus is the car to do that in, i think (know honestly) it would hold up both inside and out, waaay better than the chevy would

We had our second kid last May. During that time, we owned the F (with a note) and a 2005 Highlander (paid off). Probaby not the smartest financial move, but we ended up buying a Sienna (another note). I kept contemplating for a long time about selling the F. When I was younger I never thought I'd be able to own a car like this, so I could never come around to parting with it. Money is bit tight with 2 car notes, but my wife has been supportive. She gave her blessing when I chose to buy it, and still on board with keeping it. She's the greatest!

I really appreciate everyone's help and advice truly. After thinking hard about it and talking to my wife about it, we are going to keep the ISF. Since my car won't be the primary family car it should work fine for the times I may have to transport the little one.

Another reason has been reliability. I plan to put a ton of mileage on the car as it will be my dd and what better brand than a Lexus (Toyota). Plus its my dream car (used to be m3, lol) and why sell it to want to buy it again a few years down the line.

Actually had the same thread on the g8 forum and suprisingly a good number of people there also stated to keep the isf.

The F just got new tires yesterday and is at lexus getting its recall taken care off. Can't wait to pick it up and drive it now that I've made my decision. Lol

Good choice. My wife and I actually just found out our first is on the way. I haven't considered losing the F myself, but your decision still makes me happy.
