I had a quick 2-4th gear run with a modded stang (exaust at least). I walked pretty easily on him..he gave me a bigthumbs up.

Since i do not know much about stangs i am not sure what year it was, i just know it was a newer model and it had the "5.0" badge on the side.

I've been watching such videos for awhile now and have played with a local guy who has a "roush" dressed stand and I pulled away from him pretty severely from 60-120mph. Confidence is going through the roof soon, my home brew n20 kit just showed up along with the 4 month long "overnight parts from Japan lol" Cwest ELD kit!

I've had a few runs with a guy in a 2015 5.0 GT. 60-120 shocking dead even. I have Borla catback and the Joe Z intake pipe.

On paper he should have walked away from me, and he probably would have if he were in an automatic. No manual can shift as fast as our cars with 100% consistency and no misses. Shifting speed can make up for the slight disadvantage in power on a pull.

they have certainly come a long way on the interiors. and i actually like the exteriors now. but just too many of them on road. and also, mustang. perhaps i am biased from growing up in japan, but just dislike american cars for the most part. yuck, ha

That's true the shifting speed on the F is blazing quick and could help out in a race. I'm assuming his car was stock? Did you get a chance to ride in his vehicle?

One of my buddies just got a new 15 gt. They are seriously no joke. I agree with I8ABMR. The torque band on the 5 liter feels stronger and it comes one lower down than the F. I was never a huge mustang fan but I have to say with the new IRS they are definitely a seriously quick car.

^^I read somewhere that Ford de-tuned the Coyote at 435 and it's actually around 470 with just a SVT Tune (or any tune I think) and maybe with an exhaust also.

I can only imagine what the GT 350R will be like when it's released and the final numbers. I think I read that it has lapped the nurburgring at 7:32 or something close and the GT 350 was only 4 seconds behind the R version.

Saw quite a few stangs running qm strip yesterday, I wasn't very inpressed.. Most were running 12-13 second passes even a newer 5.0, most were 2004-2010 models (I was 20 mins late in order to be able to run the strip, so depressing..)

The exhaust is neutered too to meet euro noise rules. Aftermarket companies commented on how the header and exhaust piping diameter was smaller than outgoing. Headers and exhaust have bigger gains than the 11-14 Coyotes. This also means that given same exhaust and headers as 11-14, the new 5.0 is making a good deal more power than the 416ish it was before. I would say close to a 467hp RCF, and of course a Stang is actually tunable.

GT350 is at least 520 hp. Ford mentioned it was at least 100hp/liter

Laptimes from Motor Trend Head 2 Head tests:
Camaro 1LE - 1:22.81
BMW M4 - 1:23.73
Lexus RCF - 1:24.05
Mustang GT Perf - 1:24.32
