I have noticed mine has gotten louder since I went to synthetic oil. I am going back to conventional to see plus I do my oil changes at the dealer religiously every 5k .

BG44K didn't make a long term difference. Sorry for the bad news, but the truth is, it still ticks mercilessly when cold.

I noticed the car makes the noise loudest right after an oil change (conventional or synthetic) and when the oil level is at near or full on the dipstick.

Once you put more miles and the engine eats some of the oil and the level drops, the noise slowly goes away or significantly lessens. I was nearing my oil change interval and my oil level as dropped to about half and the noise completely went away. After a fresh oil change to Mobile 1, oil level back up to full, the noise is back full force.

Very weird, doesn't seem to affect anything..car always runs like a champ noise or not so no worries here.
