Modded car weigh in
#31
Iv'e stopped drag racing lately because I don't have any mods that'll improve it at this point. If I ever do the seats or get skinnies up front, I might go back to the track again.

Makes no difference how you attach the hardware. You have nowhere to go when you have shoulder harnesses, so the roof crushes in and your spine gets shattered if you don't have at least a roll bar. No responsible racecar engineer would ever put a full harness in car without a roll bar. The OEM three point allows you to move sideways when the roof comes smashing in, so you at least have a chance.

So I decided to roll through a closed truck stop on the way to fill up this morning, my car had nothing in it besides about 1.5 gallons of fuel, it weighed in at 3640. I've got a few mods now and plan to do more but I really think sub 3600 will be a stretch to achieve.
I've dropped a bit over 185 lbs, while still being street-able and nothing extreme. There's still room to cut a bit more weight, before getting into the hard stuff.

See post #9, I'll be installing a Braille 21 lb battery today (battery hold down arrives!) next is going to be a lot of the under car fairings/ engine bay plastics, trunk mat (I don't put anything in the trunk as it is), when I install the giken diff I'll weigh it just for info here, I got Megan front upper arms that aren't installed yet but when I do I'll weigh them.

THIS JUST IN!: so I lost 12 lbs switching to the jic magic ti bullets (4 lbs each vs 10 lb each joes) and 22 lbs all together when I installed a 21 lb Braille battery and removed the side engine bay covers. I used the oem battery hold downs (used a 3/4" piece of plywood cut to the size of the battery) then moved the ground to the apron where another ground point was, along with that I moved the relay(?) in front of the fuse block.

No. Just initialize the windows one at a time with the switch on the appropriate door.

Turn on the ignition. Open all four doors. Raise and lower the window of each door with the switch on that door from top to bottom. All the switches on the driver's door will now work correctly. You also need to open and close your sun roof the same way to initialize it.
This has to be done anytime the battery voltage drops too low, or if the battery is disconnected. This is why I say it is stupid to disconnect the battery to reset the ECM when you can reset the ECM to factory defaults just by pulling two fuses.

What is the minimum CCA required for our cars? I am looking for a light weight battery and did some searching on the corvette forums and it seems that 400 CCA is good enough for the vettes..
