Default 08 isf + hks ssm = clunking noise at rear driver side

I installed my hks ssm yesterday,it sounded great except for a clunking noise everytime i pass by an uneven road...i found out that the hks pipe was hitting "the round thing next to the shocks" ... thats why the oem muffler had a little round stopper....i tried to wrap it with a little exhaust wrap thinking it would fix it but it did'nt,just wondering if there's a DIY or something for this problem

TIA

I have the same problem on my passenger side of my Meistershaft piping. I bent the pipe a bit since its a 3" pipe so it doesn't affect performance. I also grinded down the part of the subframe that's touching the pipe

This is a common issue. It's happening in my stock 2011.

does this mean people with HKS SSM have to live with this issue and just try to ignore it?

I have the same issue on the passenger side with my Meisterschaft. I bought the HKS SSM as a replacement thinking that it won't have the same issue but alas, woe is me.

You can try replacing the exhaust hangers at the muffler with slightly longer hangers to give more clearance to that area.

Default Hks SSM

Mine fits perfectly. I have a genuine full catback hks. I just love everything, power performance and most especially the sound. It's just amazing and 0 drone on all rpm's , idling and even cruising to 90mhp. No Resonance from the cabin at all. At times I want to say it's quieter and smoother than oem exhaust especially at idling. Just my 2 cents

Looks like part of the rear subframe.

Very nice It seems like the HKS full catback is a unicorn floating around out there on F's. I don't think HKS sold that many of the full systems though, that's why they command a premium when you find one on the used market.
