keep in mind you must "teach" the car how to be responsive..it learns your driving style..so you need to drive bawls out of it to gain more response.

This is what works for me when I am in a hurry to drop down some gears. Slight throttle on seems to make mine shift more quickly.

If you want to downshift from 5th or 6th to 3rd or 2nd instantly just do this.... Throw it in Auto mode and hammer the gas pedal. The car will automatically put it in the perfect gear in the perfect RPM range.

When cruising on the highway in 8th, I have thrown it to granny mode and mashed the gas pedal and it skipped to 3rd gear instantly! Then I threw it back into manual to start shifting.

The car is very smart guys, utilize it properly.

Another technique is to be driving in auto then hold the downshift pedal. It will always jump to the lowest gear possible, then switch to manual and let it rip! I normally do this when I get caught off guard by someone challenging me and not wanting to line up...

I always drive in manual mode. I'm ready for anything... including speeding tickets.

Just try to keep it at 3500+ rpm at all times, then you'll never get caught off guard!

Tried this today but didn't work for me. When holding, it just dropped one gear and stayed in manual

Try what I said a few posts up, it works.

Just throw it into granny, mash the gas pedal and the car will do the work, then once it found the right gear, throw it back into manual.

Simple...

Here's what you do if you're cruising and all of a sudden, you need to respond to a challenge...
(Make sure you're in Sport Mode)

Gear indicator should read "D" if you're just cruising.
1. Hold '-' paddle. Gear indicator will read "D4" or whatever the lowest available gear is.
2. Knock the gear lever over to Manual.
3. Tap '-' paddle again to go one gear lower. This most times will make the car rev-match and the exhaust to blip and roar to life.
4. Hammer the throttle. Upshift at the beep. Prepare to wave goodbye.

Killed a G37 sedan this same way last night after dinner. Got a thumbs up from the driver. I look over at my wife in the passenger seat not knowing if she'd frown in disapproval, but instead, she says "That was fun!"
