Anti-seize paste on the plug threads maybe. Where is this dealer, he's frightening, do you have another choice in the vicinity-wouldn't have my toenails clipped at this place.

Probably got coolant in the spark plug holes while doing the work.

Does the fuel recall require the tech to open the loop in the cooling system?

Talking I doubt it

Anti seize on the spark plug threads would not do that unless they filled the plug hole with the stuff. They did something else.

All lifer mechanics use a bit of the stuff whenever re-installing plugs in aluminum heads. Where anti seize gets a bad reputation from plug companies is "if a touch is good more is better". The home garage guys often use way to much. Never heard of a problem when using "just a dab".

Be interesting to know what really happened.

This is exactly what happened, mechanic was super apologetic and so was the service adviser, i took a test drive with the mechanic for peace of mind and i did exactly the same as when my car Failed on me... So far so good , they reimbursed for my tow truck and gave me a coupon for a free oil change.. Don't know if i will used them again tho

I used to be a staunch supporter of anti-seize on any dissimilar metals. Then we put together this Suzuki GSXR engine and the anti-seize acted like Loc-Tite. I've been a lot more judicious since then, especially as long as plugs last these days. It's not like we're pulling them out every 5k or 10k miles to sandblast them like we did back when dirt was still fresh.

I can see spilling coolant down the sparkplug tubes pretty easily. No coolant in the cylinder, but shorting down the side of the insulator and shutting the party down pretty quickly. That's embarrassing as a professional mechanic.

Dude, RedlineAZ had the idiots accidentally get fuel in his ignition coils and had drama too. Honestly man I am going to deny the recall work for as long as possible. These idiots need practice and its not going to be on my car. Been there done that./ I was just there 2 weeks ago and they asked me to do it and I said NO.

how much coolant got in? did it make it into the chamber? If so, I would think about changing that oil...

It can't. The plug never left the hole. It just got wet down the side(s) of the sparkplug tube(s).

Sounds like Lexus left you stranded, not the F. I'm glad it was nothing "serious" and hey bright-side your wife didn't kill you on the side of the road! :P
