Default Borla Cat Back with 4 Round Tips

I bought some used factory oval tips and modified them to accommodate round tips which connect directly to the Borla mufflers. Thought I would share some photos.

Looks good. Paint those screws black, and it'll look even better IMHO.

Thanks for the compliments. The tips are listed below. Bought them from Summit Racing for $26.50 each. Borla's muffler has four output stubs that are 2 inch outside diameter. I'll look into some black screws, those that are on there are stainless flange head button screws, I haven't had a lot of luck with paint adhering to stainless very long.

I like that a lot. Did you take any pictures of the installation process or whatnot? As per the screws that you used to hold that piece in place, could you not use black zip ties instead and have a more concealed look versus screws?

Sorry, no fabrication pictures. A lot of cardboard test templates, die grinder with a zip disc in it to mod the OEM tip/collector piece, 3 1/2 inch hole saw, aircraft nibbler tool. Requires a moderate amount of sheet metal fabrication skill.

With regard to the screws verses zip ties or other fasteners, once you have the OEM tip/collector piece in hand you can see that it is an over-designed part that is held on with a variety of strangely angled mounts.

I appreciate everyone's own cosmetic sense and feedback with regard to the screws, I will keep in mind replacing them with black ones. They are very easily replaced, I used 6mm nutserts under them, so I just need to find a non-rusting black 6mm x 20mm screw. I kind of thought the stainless screws added a little detail to the area.

Looks great You could try getting black oxide screws or anodized.

Looks really good. Has anyone been able to modify a Joe-Z exhaust in a similar fashion?

only thing i didnt like about the joe z was that the outlet mufflers only had one tip hole. whereas the borla has two.

Looks good. Been thinking about doin this more and more for my borla. I wonder if you bought a bigger inlet diameter and fabbed up a plate with an offset hole would it look more like the iss forged.

Nice job. I do think your going to have some metal scratching noises driving around. There's a fair amount of exhaust movement on an isf.

I wish akrapovic made an exhaust for our car. They would have some insane factory integrated set up.
