Smile Proud to be new owner of ISF

Hi all,
After years of searching, finally found the car and pull the trigger.
Its 2012 with 45000miles.
As a newbie in ISF. I have few question I would like to hear from you guys

-Is there any upcoming maintenance I should be aware of that ?
-Is the extended warranty will be worthy? It will be my daily drive and want to keep ISF for long time..

I would really appreciated you guys input and suggestion.

Thank you!

Congrats!

I bought mine CPO so it came with 3 years warranty, but still purchased extended warranty (like you, I am planning on keeping this baby for a while!). It's worth the peace of mind.

There's 2 recalls that you have to take care of, but since your car is a 2012, I don't think both recalls will affect your car. Double check by searching up your car with the VIN number.

Welcome and congrats 60k change spark plugs , and you can do the oil change , extended warranty if u already have CPO to 100k then u r good . If not then its up to you, the ISF its very reliable , there are members here that have over 120k miles which no problem. Hope that help.

Thanks all the all the information and greeting.
Coming from Acura TL which is also very reliable, ISF has the reliability and performance
In fact, that is the reason why I bought the car and planning to keep the car for long time.
The Extended warranty should give me peace in mind but not sure whether its worthy.
Plus, Is there any recommended dealer or person I can purchase extended warranty with great price?

Again Thank you guys!

hmmm..it seems like the most headache we get is the slow coolant leak in heat exchanger which recently came up

my 2011 is affected too and it's expensive to fix outside warranty

Just received few quotes for Warranty,
7 yr / 100K - $2245.00
7 yr / 125K - $2910.00
8 yr / 100K - $2585.00
8 yr / 125K - $3660.00
I'm leaning more toward to 8yrs/100k .
Is there any suggestion or recommendation on price or warranty?

It's a Lexus, your better to take that $3660 and put it in the bank to get interest on it.

If an ISF is out of warranty and has the coolant leak, a dealership will likely charge you. But since it is a well known issue, if you contact Lexus corporate and open a case, they can give you a good will offer to get it fixed for free or at a significantly discounted price. Most manufactures will actually do this.

Congrats on the F! For the newer F's, I highly doubt there will be any items that are cause for concern. But for peace of mine, I purchased an extended warranty on mine. Granted it was a 2008 model, but it definitely came in handy to have things like the water pump or navigation screen replaced. As far as regular maintenance, the car does require 10 quarts of oil (9.8 really), so if you're a DIY type, I would stock up on oil filters or purchase them in bulk for more savings. There are a few vendors here that can help save you more money on those items, so it is best to inquire with your CL account to get the best quote.

Hope you enjoy your F, and post pics when you get the chance.

Well I just purchased a 4 yr. 48K for a steal, and im at 100K miles. The maintenance I will require here will pay for the warranty and I love the peace of mind I would not purchase a 8 year 100K warranty unless you drive very little each year, I would wait until your factory warranty is about to reside, thus you get more for your money bc of time/mileage ratio difference your pulling trigger to soon since you still have warranty and prices are still not much more before your factory warranty goes.
