Exclamation My 1/4 mile result....pretty disappointed

I just came back from sac raceway today and i'm pretty dissapointed. I only had one run during that night and i overreved the car 3 times and had a terrible launch. I was dissapointed on how bad the track prep was. Temperature was about 48 degrees F. I did a burn out to warm up my Stock potenzas. I didn't lower the air pressure. ..maybe i should had? There were tons of cars, mainly the new 13 and up mustang gt. I waited 1 hr before i could run. Had my engine properly warmed up as well during the sit. Anyway, here are my results.

Sorry for the lopsided pic. Its really not but it posted here lopsided.

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

Density altitude calculator. It really makes a difference if you are in a high altitude area. I live in Alberta Canada and my density altitude is sometimes around 4500 ft. My 13.03 run last summer was actually a 12.56

And yes, remove lots of air from your tires, GRIP!!!

time for full bolt ons, headers, exhaust, intake . jk it probably takes experience and getting used to the car, also get fatter tires.

This does not speak to track prep at all. Sac Raceway isn't always on top of this. I've been there a time or two.

Its easy to see the top times and think that every track is created equal... This is definitely not the case so i wouldn't be too disappointed. Im pretty sure that most of the cali guys are close to your time anyways

^^Thanks you guys. I may go back on a test and tune where the track is supposedly prep alot better. I was mainly dissapointed in my launch and 60 foot times. I decided not to brake torque as i saw lots if other cars wheel hopping of the line. On green, I did mash the gas about 90% and just as i expected, i was wheel hopping too. That lead me to conclusion that the track was prep poorly.

Hey 13.1 isn't so bad for one run only, considering your 60ft time, wheel hoppin off the line plus you hitting the rev limiter 3 times in a bone stock IS-F?.. I'd say that's pretty good.

Your trap seems a bit low though.

13.1 isn't bad at all for only 1 run, especially if track conditions were suboptimal. I don't know what your stock tires are capable of, but with a solid launch you can knock .25 seconds off that 60' time.

Do you guys keep it in Auto? I can't find it, but I read that auto was quicker.

The quickest is manual mode, disable traction and stability control (long push), launch at 800-1200 rpm (really depends on your power and traction), shift at or just after the beep.

People have differing opinions on when exactly to shift, but my fastest 1/4 mile was done when I shifted a split second before the beep in first and just after the beep in 2-4th...crossing the 1/4 mile bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th.
