Default Custom 2.5 X piped Exhaust to stock mufflers

I recently just did full a 2.5 inch x pipes to stock mufflers. I deleted secondary cats and resonator. I must say, it picks up better and sounds marvelous. Virtually no drone. It sounds just slightly louder then stock when cruising but when accelerating, it roars just enough to where my mark levinson can still be heard. And yes, you can hear the engine note too. I basically used Lou's design but did not added rear resonators, secondary cats, and did not had to modify the stock mufflers.

Sound clips to follow by later this week

I did something similar. Although I kept all the cats. I didn't want to deal with any issues with emissions testing/inspection, etc. I'm too old for that crap.

^^ I definitely hear you. Thats why i kept the stock mufflers. It will probably pass the emission test but would fail visual check. I know a smog guy who tends to not look underneath for the cats. Thats how i pass with my previous is350 with no secondary cats.

Cool

I did the same on my car, i feel improvement on acceleration and hp probably, not dyno. I know cause cause after racing my friends isf, i was faster than him on highway 😉😃, but on mine i custom double burnt tips at each end, and removed the stock tips... sounds amazing. And really quiet in idle...

This is a picture when i was installing my spoiler, do car is dirty, lol....

BTW mine is truly straight pipes with no Xpipe/Hpipe , resonators or mufflers. Truly turn heads more than before.

Wow not even electric cut outs?? I can imagine how that would turn heads haha. I would not be able to stand the noise personally.

I really don't want to throw cold water on this thread, but your installer used Crush Bends which will cause some restriction. I had an exhaust similar to yours before I installed my PPE Dual Mode system, and all my bends were Mandrel. It's the superior choice because it keeps the ID the same throughout the exhaust system.

I also had two inlets running into the stock muffler.

Other than the Crush Bends, the workmanship looks very good.

He's right. My system also has crush bends, which eventually I'll remove and replace with another custom system. Phil over at spoolin performance does nice work, so I'll be taking a trip sometime next year for the install.

I know it's not mandrel bend work, but the crush bends are quite minimal IMHO. Compared to the factory single exhaust pictured below, it's still a vast improvement.

^^^^I certainly agree with that statement. Anything is an improvement over that restrictive crush in the stock "Y" pipe. I was only pointing out, that Crush Bends are not optimal for the OPs setup.
