They can keep their SS. I'm hooked on F.............and not having unscheduled visits to see the dealership

I think the OP hit the nail in the head with the comparison. ISF is a true performance sports sedan, SS is a high powered sporty GT cruiser. Chevy is having a very hard time with marketing and selling the car because it doesn't quite fit any niches. Enthusiasts keep saying that their resale will hold value, but I'm not so sure since initial demand is already so low.

I have always been a Chevy guy, have owned literally dozens of them in the last 35 years, although I have owned a plethora of Toyota products as well.
I passed on a pristine '14 SS my friend purchased new and only amassed 2k on the clock, while he waited for his '15 'Vette to arrive. Could have had it for 38k. Paid roughly 44k for my 12 month old '13 F (July build sold new in December) with 7032 miles on the clock.
For me it was the right choice. If I was a little older (I am 50+, but still drive hard) I may have opted for the SS. To the OP, excellent write up.

primecut I agree GM is having a difficult time with the marketing and sales of the SS.

I think it's important to note that the SS is 15 inches longer than the ISF (180ish vs. 195.5 inches). The SS sits right in between the GS and the LS in size, for reference. This accounts for a lot of the comments you make regarding size, seating, trunk space, etc. Two very different classes, in my opinion.

I looked at a number of cars priced through the roof before I found mine, which was traded in on a new vehicle in the same town where it was purchased new.
The original asking price was $54,900. I continued to watch the car, when it had been reduced to $49,900 I made a low ball offer and we met in the middle, the car had sat in the showroom just long enough (traded in early October, purchased December 12th) they were getting nervous about it.
Timing is everything, I think these cars may be difficult to sell in some parts of the country during the winter months.
There is a silver '12 at Lexus of Riverside (CA) that may be a give away soon. They have had good luck with moving F's through their establishment, but this one hit the lot right when some rain hit, and has been on their lot a couple of months now. A salesman there told me that management was getting itchy.
