Default Transitioned from 2009 F to 2013 & you guys are right...

What a difference in suspension, steering feel & overall ride quality. Feels more like a luxury/sports sedan over the earlier model. I did not mind the older suspension don't get me wong but after reading up on all the newer enhancements I decided to take the plunge especailly after catching this pretty decent deal (NON) CPO. The dealer was initially going to advertise it for around $50k CPO but decided to aggressively price it w remainder of factory warranty. I'm digging the Alpine interior also even though I may regret later. Also will miss the added HP my previous car has but sometimes you can't have your cake & eat it too I guess.

The only thing I swapped from car to car was the Figs LCA's. Now I will need tires/brakes within next 5-7k.

Congrats on the pick up.

I don't think I've ever seen white on white before.

That appears to be a pretty great deal. With factory warranty still attached to it, it makes it even better. Is there anything that you liked more about the older one compared to the 2013 you have right now?

Thanks for the compliments guys, I actually prefer the 2013 over the 2009 but I miss the extra power the 2009 had due to I/H/E. I plan on keeping this one stock. But at least I know now how our cars feel with the extra goodies

RMA,

Hypothetical question. Say you were looking at two F's same condition, color, and roughly same mileage. Only difference would be one is 08-09 and the other is a 2011. Would you spend an extra 8-10k to acquire the 2011?

That interior is pretty, but I don't think I would ever let anyone else in it! I don't want anyone in mine even with the black interior!

FWIW, over the last year I drove 12-15 F's between '08-'13, the later ones always seemed to be better drivers, particularly when driven hard on anything but pristine pavement.

All great cars, but once I drove a '13, I was sold.

You'll love the white/alpine. Traded my '08 black/black for an '11 white/alpine and never looked back. The changes you mentioned make all the difference in the ride/handling/etc. And it is a very rare combination. An email from from Lexus said in '11, there were 654 IS-F's, 140 were white and only 31 had the alpine interior. Mine draws attention wherever I park it.

Me personally $8-10k more for a car 2-3 years newer I would pass, I paid $12k difference on mine but I felt it was more than a fair deal considering its a 2013 which is just like buying a 2014 excluding the extra cosmetics (F headrests & CF spoiler) & whatever else. In your case you would be spending around $3k a year more just to climb into a 2011 & you would be gaining the newer steering ecu, suspension, LSD & newer dash (the more important things) yes but I would be more apt to go an extra $5-6k tops!

I'm in the same dilemma...first off congrats! On the new F. I bought my first F back in May 2014, I got a real good deal on it but I knew it wasn't stock. It had swift springs, straight pipes, blacked out emblems, blacked out chrome. At first I didn't mind but soon after I realized this F was beat to hell...and a lot of cosmetic things going on. The straight pipe sound was awesome but aesthetically I did not like the look in the back of the rear diffusers (empty gap). The steering wheel had a very heavy feel to it. Finally, after fixing something's i called it quits and began looking for another. This time I made sure I got the color I wanted and in the condition I wanted. Long behold I found one this past January another model year 2011 fully stock! Not even tints! My dilemma is I want to order an ISS forged exhaust, possibly get headers, get new wheels, and a bunch of other stuff. But I agree with you. I'm loving it for what it is stock! It totally drives like a Lexus and becomes a beast once I open her up. I simply don't know what to do...lol I can either order the exhaust soon, or use the money to tint the car, spray the calipers the color I want, get a full touch up detail at a really good shop, clear bra (a bit too late for that). What would you suggest? Being that you already experienced that performance phase you brought out on your previous F?
