Good news for us Canadians... I got a letter for the ELF recall - remedy available, and also a letter for the cooling fans.

Better late than never I suppose

Yes, two different letters in two different envelopes.
Swoo350, you should check out the Alberta ISF thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...mmer-meet.html

wow I never thought it was going to make it to Canada.

maybe I'll have to negotiate a deal to potentially help my coolant leak. I have coolant leaking huge down the side of my tranny. however the coolant doesn't go below the low line. hmmm

probably better I let Northwest know before the recall so we could come up with a price.

hopefully they assign the same mechanic and a knowledge one for our cars. I'm going to ask for the same SA and mechanic to keep it consistent.

I got my US spec car into the European system so Lexus of Europe is doing both the fan and fuel recalls. I spoke with the head tech and told him about the issues everyone in the U.S. is having and his exact words were "I don't work with tape, that's bull****!" So I asked him what would he do if the harness protector broke while doing the work. He said they will replace it. It gives me some confidence letting them work on my car but I'm still a little nervous as I have had no real issues with it at all.

The SA is Jason and the tech is Steve. I've talked to Steve about other issues. One thing I can say about him is he is honest. And for Jason, he's not a snake oil sales man. You're talking to a human being, not a progammed robot. I'm confident leaving it with these two, but until the car is returned to me I won't know.

Lexus technician here - not a Master (yet) but Senior level. I have not done the ELF on the IS F yet but it is an almost identical set up to the LS 460 which I have done many times. When I first did the LS I did end up breaking the wire harness cover, however, since then I have learned the proper way to remove the intake manifold without having to bend the harness cover which ultimately leads to it breaking. Long story short, it is very possible to not break the cover, they are either just too lazy, or don't know the proper way of doing it.
