Maybe after market ECUs that can control both port and direction will become more affordable since more cars are implementing direct injection.

Hopefully with the introduction of the RC-F and GS-F we make get more aftermarket support.

it is ok to dream haha

Me and you both, Juan. I can only hope for something to finally happen with regards to the ability to tune the ISF...

Haha

"Whats that holding up your table man?"

"Well boys, Thats the supercharger that never was.... In the beginning Greddy said lets look cool. Everyone got excited, then over 6 years everyone was let down at their own rate of faith in that someday, someone would tune the almighty isF." .... Ultimate fail for a supercharger system

Not only is it encrypted, Toyota went so far to write their own programming that doesn't follow any standard programming format. So even if you do get inside, you won't know how everything works...even for someone that is a programmer, they will have difficulty understanding everything because it is not a simple structured format all other regular programs follow. While every car manufacture has ECUs that speak one universal language like English, Toyota went and made up their own language. As Toyota/Lexus cars get more advanced and more ECM/ECUs get thrown in to the mix, it makes it all the more difficult to hack since all the ECUs have to be constantly interacting with one another.(as mentioned, the ISF has 14 ECUs).
And just to add, Toyota is also criticized for creating their own programming. It is what got them in hot water with the 'unintended acceleration' bug where individuals were killed. A programming group was allowed access to Toyotas Source Code for one of the lawsuit cases. The group pretty much stated the source code itself is one big cluster **** that doesn't follow proper standards, which could lead to bug issues and anomalies. The head of the programming group wrote a public article about how Toyotas source code sucks, you can do a search for it. Toyota lost that lawsuit by the way.

So yah, don't think there will be anyone that can successfully 'hack' a Toyota ECM to the point they can tune everything. And as mentioned, even if they did, with the so-called possible lethal bugs involved and the hundreds of class action lawsuits attached to it, it might not be the wisest thing to play with it. But I still don't really believe all is lost, I think there are other ways around it. Piggyback systems might still work(many are proven reliable). Or just completely yank all Toyota ECUs out of it, replace the autotranny with a standard manual transmission, and get a complete standalone that operates the engine and fuel system.
