Guys a warning... if you are buying these and plan to simply resell on our forums at a significant profit, you are likely to get restricted from the classifieds for price gouging your fellow members. That's not what this community is about.

If you want to discuss our classifieds rules or work out what a reasonable resale is (hint, it's not 5X what you paid for this), PM me rather than take this thread off track (cleaned up a number of posts).

Gearbangin please exit this thread

I do not know anything about this seller, but in my humble opinion, when something sounds too good to be true, there's usually a catch.

Not to say that these could not be 100% perfect, they might just be the real deal, but if you buy one, then pay someone the labor to pull the one off your car and put this one in and it doesn't work....

Well now that's double labor costs + another trans + double the time to get your car back up and running.

In my humble opinion, I would rather cross the bridge when or if i even get to it.

Read post 35, one is essentially buying these direct from Toyota.

Besides that, I don't pay anyone for labor. Gearbox installs are pretty easy. It's the TCU initialization that's a real PITA.

A W Transmission Engineering
14920 Keel St
Plymouth MI 48170 - 6006

For those that are still skeptic about this deal. These transmissions are shipped directly from Toyota's Aisin North America builder. The above address was from my freight tracking. Freight listed the weight is 180 lbs, total with fluid and converter and crate isn't too bad.

This is how Awtec ships them . Good to have them as back up if you plan on road racing. The tq converter alone are $1000 a pop

They have 19 LS 460 torque converters, LOL… $72 each. The part number supplied is no good in the US parts system. However, the part number for the all the UR V8 cars seems to cross reference, so now you can have extra.

$72 for a torque converter for our cars? Damn... Has anyone have any issues with their torque converter?

Please post the link to the eBay post?

thanks

A good sign with these transmission going for so cheap means there really is no need for a secondary market for these tranny which means the isf tranny is pretty much bulletproof and will last longer then the car. Well just my thinking.

I was pretty sure I would have smoked one by now but holding true. My friend and I were talking about how I use the car the other day and he looked at me and said your car is a fluke. You could buy 100 cars and would never find something so reliable again... I told him he's wrong and needs to stop driving American cars.

Have any of you guys replaced your tranny fluid, especially the guys with the higher mileage? I know its sealed, but I'm always paranoid that its going to be the death of the car in higher mileage because every other car requires transmission fluid replacements lol

Totally agree darbs. Mine is strong as hell. American cars are cheap for a reason. Nobody gives anything away . You either pay in the sticker price or you pay in repairs. I dont have time for repairs

Dead on the money. If these are the seed gearboxes for remanufacturing, and they are up for sale, what does that say about how many rebuilt transmissions they've sold? Pretty small number.
