Default Brand new IS-F transmission for $1000 bucks shipped?!

Umm... yea...so I came across this eBay listing.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-2009-Lexus-IS-F-Automatic-Transmission-A-T-Model-AA80E-NEW/321503678379?_trksid=p2050601.c100271.m3466&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140716145905%26meid%3D86ef99035b1f40068988dff6a2b3afcf%26pid%3D100271%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D321503678379%26clkid%3D3569529655568953309&_qi=RTM1963929
This guy has 4 of them, brand new OE leftover stock for $1080 shipped or best offer.

I'm tempted to shoot him an offer for $900 shipped, at this price I'll just keep it in the living room as a conversation piece.

Considering a brand new one cost over $12,000+. what's there to lose?

wow, I might get one too! My car has 110k+ miles now and I'm planning on pushing this car to 250k+ miles so it's not a bad idea to keep a spare brand new transmission in the garage. I like your idea, I can build a crate around it and turn it into a coffee table.

why? There is nothing to indicate any transmission issues with the ISF at all. The one or two here have been total flukes ( people have implied abuse ) .

It would be a shame if you didnt test it and when it came time to install.. this one ends up being a fluke lol.

I mean this guy is selling the ISF transmission for the same price of a 1999 GS400 transmission lol

Yep 900 including shipping. Lol I wasted more money on useless stuff like high end Scotch so this is a cool prop for my coffee table that serves as a back up at the same time

Stupid question..with what documentation can you ensure its viability and state? Because I have seen this for some time know..but that, "too good to be true" feeling hits me and I look past it.

I don't know boys, by the time it's time to worry about transmission, most of us will drive 911's and GTR's.

I'm curious, I have seen several times people say the transmission costs $12,000+. Where did this number come from?

When I go look it up through one of the websites I use to find parts, part numbers, diagrams etc. It shows the transmission to be $3,634.47 MSRP for an 08.

(not sure it will work but here is the link)
