Hey guys. I'm looking for a solution for being too tall for the the F with a helmet on, anyone over 5'10". I'm curious to weather the isf share a seat bolt pattern with the isx50. Sparco makes all the parts to drop one of their seats into a X50 but no where does it mention an isf.... I think a seat like the sparco 600r in leather in place of my driver seat would find me at least two more inches of head room while not matching the interior would not look bad either. Also would double as a weight reduction. Always would be looking for any tips on how to keep an srs light off as well. Any experience fitting a after market seat to an is model would be great.

I know FIGs mentioned selling a resistor bypass kit solution for aftermarket seats.
Definitely contact them.

People have swapped ISF seats into their 2IS, without mention of an adapter so the seat bolt pattern should be the same.

I am using Planted seat brackets and OPT sliders with my Status seats, although I was very unhappy with Planted to begin with.... they sent me a bracket that did not fit properly and had ME do the measurements for them to make one that fit... :| I thought thats why i paid them lol

Stock 2IS seats are ~60lbs each. Both my buckets weigh right around 50lbs total i believe (with brackets/sliders).

I would have to measure to get an exact number. I'm 6'1" and noticed a tad bit of clearance gained, my hair doesnt graze the roof anymore. Without sliders you can get more clearance, but getting in and out of a static bucket seat in this car would be very hard without a detachable steering wheel. My buckets are also mounted with a slight "gangster lean" (mounted in a slightly reclined position), since my car isnt a track car; just a garage queen.

5 point restraints without a rollbar isn't a good idea. IMHO, harness bars should be illegal, they create a huge rollover risk for the occupants. Definitely like the brackets though. I've thought about it more than once, but I would be switching back and forth. I really need the convenience of the OEM seats when I am not on track.

That's why I would get a high end street seat. I would try to use a factory seat belt if I could. I don't want the harness at all. Just head room and a seat that grabs me more. My left knee gets soar from pushing against the door so much over a few one hour sessions. I do agree about the daily seat comfort. Isf seats are very nice. I would miss the heat too.

Any updates? I'm looking for the same thing. I'd like to be able to keep my head level at the track... the track photographer likes to make fun of me for keeping my head sideways or squashed down in all of his pictures:

Im 6'5" 285lbs and I barely fit with the helmet . ( not a perfect seating position but decent) . If I fit I would assume most will unless they want to be really close to the wheel.

Your knees should be 2" - 3" from the dash if you're in the right position. You should also be able to put your wrist on the top of the wheel without leaning forward.

I have always tried to make sure my arms are bent as much as possible so I have the ability to steer and change inputs easily but its not the ideal position. I think after looking at the pics that since I have to have the seat all the way back and the back reclined considerably my head is closer to the middle to the car. For me to be in the ideal seating position I'd probably have to be in an S class coupe LOL.

Also note the position of the gear shift lever in this car. Not at all what the tuner crowd would consider fashionable, but definitely set up to perform well for the driver with minimal time needed for one handed driving.

I'm in the same boat as you in regards to the left knee. I decided to get a CG Lock. It's the cheapest solution for what I need. A race seat with harness and mount bracket will cost a bit not to mention the loss of every day comfort when not on the track. I payed $80 http://www.cg-lock.com/track.html I just got it over the winter so I cant give a review on it yet.

That CG lock video looks interesting but Im more pushing against the b pillar to hold myself up. I need deeper buckets. My back barely fit between the bolsters
