Default how stiff is 08 suspension?

I've read numerous places where 08 suspension is really stiff.

Can you help me perspective how stiff it really is? I am coming from a Nissan altima coupe if that helps

test driving one is the only and best way to know. never been in an altima coupe but i'm sure it's quite a bit stiffer than your ride.

I have an 08 an its a pretty stiff ride. In comparison to my previous cars its pretty similar. I had a 03 350Z Track model which was also known to be a pretty stiff ride especially the first year. I also had a 08 BMW 335i with Sports package and suspension with 19's and run flat tires. Surprisingly I think the 335i was stiffer but I think it was more due to the 19's and rock hard run flat tires. If you expecting a comfortable cushy ride don't get an 08. If you like a more track oriented feel then shouldn't be a problem.

One of my Ex's had a Altima (2009) and is was much softer vs the '08 ISF. If 10 was the stiffest and 0 the softest I would say the Altima was a 5 and the ISF an 8 (Just my opinion).

I agree with this.
The 08 ISF feels very stiff to me for a Lexus. On uneven freeways where I live, it is jarring. I thought I would get used to it, but still surprises me an all stock suspensions feels this stiff.(stiff to the point when I see a fairly good size dip in the road I do "brace" myself). I must be getting old. And it is stiffer than my Supras suspension when it was stock(which I would of rated at a 7). I really want to swap to a newer ISF suspension, that is how bad it is for me and I drive my son around in the ISF.

My 2008 ISF was driven home and I thought they forgot to install shock absorbers at the factory... Once you realize how wonderful this car performs in turns, they you learn to love the ride.. Hope my answer was not too late for you... (LOL) -- I don't come here often (g)

I've driven all years except 09 and 13. I own an 08. It's stiff. Doesn't bother me at all but girlfriend complained (once). That was probably more aimed at my driving.

Worst street car I've felt ever was a 78 Formula. It isn't half that bad.

Try one yourself.

To me if you have driven a car with aftermarket coilovers it is quite close to that...

Past cars of mine have had H&R and ST Coils.

Well the '11 is pretty stiff, and the pre-'11s are supposed to be even stiffer.

Not very soft and it's jittery. Your coming from a smaller family car to a serious track oriented sports sedan. It's much harder but you need it to be.

I drove 08 and 09s and didn't feel that the suspension was sorted out. I then drove a 2012 and bought it because I felt Lexus had finally achieved that sublime BMW balance of a compliant ride with feedback and control.

Are you sure it's the suspension and not the steering ECU? I feel 08 suspension feel faster than MY12 suspension on accelaration.

It's stiffer than Nissan Altima. The factors are, it's a sports sedan use on racing track, you have 19" wheel with much lower tire height than Altima, but it's still softer than a Nissan GTR. If you live in an area where the roads are flat then you are ok, but if the area has a lot of potholes or uneven surfaced road then better get an aftermarket or MY12+ suspension.

It's not the stiffness but the short rebound which yields a jolt when drive through a small dip. After 30K miles, it soften up considerably.
