Default Standard IS Hood fit IS F?

I was curious, does anyone know if the standard IS hood will fit the F? There seems to be room above the engine.

NO. The larger hood had to be fitted to allow for room for the much larger motor. Same thing with the front fenders and side skirts.

Thanks, I didn't realize that the engine is taller not just longer.

The bulge in the ISF hood is there for a reason, and it's not aesthetics.

It'll fit if you put a standard IS x50 motor in there

It's not just "bulge" that's different. And no it will not fit even if you put an ISx50 motor in there.

Front of the IS-F and ISx50 are totally different, IS-F is longer and wider.

As the pictures below demonstrates, a member on CL who converted their ISx50 to an IS-F front end.

Here is the standard hood with the IS-F fender test bolted up. As you can see the IS-F fenders are much longer and the IS-F is wider so the hood does not line up at all.

Here is the thread if you want to read up on it.

Wow, thanks for the link. It is interesting that Lexus would go to those economic lengths to create the F model. Usually manufacturers try to keep as many common parts between models as possible especially large body panels.

Well it's only the Hood, Fenders, Bumpers & Side Skirts..

From the firewall back, the cars are identical..
