High mileage IS F?
Hi all
newbie here, but I saw a 2008 Lexus IS F for sale, but it has 120,000 miles on it - going for $25,000, but I am hoping there is room to negotiate lower.
What are your thoughts? I know Lexus is reliable, but that is a lot of miles. Is this a good deal?

After 100k miles.. the car's value drops dramatically. I wouldn't jump on it because I'd like to stay in the mid range miles 60-100k due to it being a performance car.
If it was a camry then 120k miles isn't saying much.. but at the same time they tend to look beat up and worn out by that time.. imagine a car thats 400hp. lol

I would say depending on where you live you should be able to find a better deal. I am in Canada (Toronto) and my '08 was purchased in August for $30K CAD (with a few extras). It had 60k (40,000 Miles) which is about 1/3 the miles and it came with all Lexus service records.

i would probably avoid. there are nicer ones out there for a little more money.
that being said, i bought my '08 with 75k on it for $26k otd. i typically buy mint cars (aka under 15k miles) but i had just sold my previous dd and had about a week to buy another car before my semester began. the reason i pulled the trigger was because it was in absolutely immaculate condition, one-owner, all service records, and all highway miles as the guy commuted everyday. i think that's an atypical situation. if i had to do it again (with less of a time crunch) i would have sought out a minter with under 20k miles so i could keep it for the foreseeable future without worry. i will say i have 98k on my '08 now and it feels just as strong and fresh as any new lexus i've been in. if you just do a bit of maintenance on these cars i don't see why it wouldn't last forever.

Nissan dealer in Delray Beach has a USB with 109k miles. They are asking $30k and I know for a fact they gave the guy $22k in trade cause I talked to him. He was a member here but he bought a GTR.

110k miles on my car now and the motor is as strong as any 40-50k miles F out there. At 108k My car made 408whp on a Dynojet with headers and exhaust, a fellow F with headers and exhaust made 395whp. He has less than 50k miles. I have lighter wheels and rotors that might have contributed to the few hp extra but my motor isn't tired by any mean! Daily 25k miles a year here!
