I just bought my 2011 with high miles. I think I got a pretty good deal though at 32k the car had
85k miles on it. my buddy is a master tech at Sewell and he looked the car over in the dealership and said it has had an easy life. highway miles I guess. 68k miles is nothing for an F. but what is the price?

They're asking 38k but I should be able to do better than that...thinking $35k. or I could spend $43k on an '11 with less than half the miles and a CPO warranty- but a Lexus is the last brand I'd worry about an extended warranty on.

I kinda wish I would have skipped the warranty. after being on these forums, I realized there are quite a few things I can fix myself and the majority of the things that go wrong are recalls anyway. I wouldn't get the warranty. just my opinion though. my warranty cost 3k for the platinum. I get mad when I think about it

Extended warranties are overkill, especially for a Lexus, IMHO. It's a no-brainer for the European brands.

OOH, I'm getting really close to pulling the trigger on this. It's not as much of a no-brainer as i thought it would be though...I keep going back and forth between the ISF and an S4. Too many good cars out there, AAARGH. Even got crazy good financing at 1.49%.

Audi builds beautiful and fun to drive cars, but they won't touch the F for reliability. A toyota with high miles has WELL over 200k, and even then they are good if the basic maintenance was performed.

I know, the practical side of me says go for the F all day long...such first world problems!

No matter the pedigree of a brand or the history of its reliability, I will always purchase an extended warranty for an expensive car...key word expensive.
Well this doesn't apply to low-cost German cars...I think a warranty would be prudent even for a $30k German car. Hahaha

Honestly, I think this car can go 200k miles easy.

I've beat on the car so much and all I ever had happen was the water pump leak, which many IS-F's have suffered from.

Other than that, you are not taking any risks purchasing this car at 68k miles.

If you were looking into an M3, etc. thats a whole different story.

I am seeing one that is going for $25k with 120,000 miles. That helps me

anything else to look out for?

Knock on wood one of the most reliable performance vehicles ive seen to date.. Put it to you this way.. I have had my F for 4 years and at 100K from owning at 12K, beside cost of tires, I have only had to spend $3200 on maintenance, and 900 of that was replacing radiator....So, you decide lol...Almost as low maintenance as my scion or equinox aside for difference in oil capacity/amounts, etc. If you want a great performing reliable car cant think of a better option.
