Red Seats - Why not re-trim your OEM seats??
Hey Guys,
Must admit I am quite smitten with the red leather seats (as I know lots of you are! ).
My only question is why don't you guys get your stock black/white/tan seats re-trimmed in red leather by one of the numerous upholstery shops over there??
I have about as much chance of sourcing a set in red over here as I do sleeping with Kate Beckinsale! Lol
Found a company that will do them for me in a colour of my choice, in their Nappa luxury range for around $2,400. That gets me seats, headrests, door cards.
I didn't think that was a bad price really!
My car is SGM. Thinking the OEM red is a bit too fire engine red for my liking. I am toying with a darker red (more blood red) as I think it would look better.
Any thoughts or comments??
Cheers.
Peter

I see. This firm do cars for manufacturers like Porsche and Audi. They also just did the soccer player Wayne Rooneys Q7!
I'm thinking a nice burgundy red would look pretty sweet.
Can someone tell me whether the OEM red seats retain the F themed blue stitching?
Want it to come out like it was OEM.
Thanks.

Love the red leather seats also, looks amazing on Nebula and Obsidian.
I inquired on how much to redo just the seats, 2 front and rear at a reputable auto upholstery shop near me and was quoted $1500. This place does a lot of vintage Porsches, saw his sample work and was very impressed. I thought the price was a steal.
He guaranteed factory stitching quality and fitment. I was going to go for it but he said he needed my seats for about 45 days
The thought of driving around sitting on a milk crate for 45 days just wouldn't work.
Maybe after the holidays...

I remember when I was shopping for an UltraSonic blue ISF with black interior, I kept finding the car with red interior.
I asked around about swapping interiors or re-doing the leather and it turns out to be a whole lot of $$$$. I ended up with a 2013 Gray ISF, which I loved ever since I saw it in the show room. (actually, to be quite honest, that car never reached the show room, I bought it before anyone else even saw it, dealer called when it was on the ship and I snagged it)
I would personally go for burgundy leather, but not red.

I think a nice burgundy red against the darker SGM will look lovely.

My wifes infiniti (that was just totaled.....Rest in Pieces...) had a red interior against a gunmetal grey exterior. Man that thing was AWESOME! As much as I love my F, I would frequently drive her car because I loved the color combo!
