Default F bites the dust

So I was at the local Lexus dealer this evening and started talking with one of the salesmen. He mentioned that they had an '08 ISF with about 20K that just got sold two weeks ago. I told him I had seen it before it was sold. It was in really good shape, almost like new. Anyway he told me a 24 year old 'kid' bought it. Lasted him three days before he wrote it off.

So whats the point of this post? Some F owners are pretty young.. it doesn't mean anything.

I know.. but couldn't anyone total it regardless of age? I've seen worse with even more high end cars.

As has already been said, could happen to anyone.

Can't imagine the 24yr old wanted to total his new car.

Just reinforces the fact we need to play it safe.

Especially all the East Coast owners with the bad weather over there.

Sad to hear though.

Drive safe guys.

The point of the thread was to convey a sense of sorrow for the loss of an ISF and to reinforce the fact that it is easy to forget how incredible these cars are. If anyone had seen the pristine condition of the car, I'm sure they would have been saddened to hear of its demise.

The "24 year old kid" part was just what the salesman said. The salesman appeared to be a person close to 60 years so I suspect any relatively young person could be referenced as a "kid" by him.

Are you in Ottawa? Was this at Bel-Air Lexus?

I was going to buy that car, bought mine for a lot less anyways But that is sad.

Probably drove it with the summer tires on it...

Well it was listed for $37 so I bet that's what he paid. I had them down to 32,600

Sounds like the lesson to learn here is that you should have bought it. Then it would still be alive and well

Wow, if you got them down to 32600 you should have bought it. I don't think that dealership negotiates too much on price. At least they weren't budging last year on a car I was looking at on their lot.

The ISF was in amazing condition. So sad it's gone.

2011 ISF with 16K Kilometers sitting in my garage until at least April 2015. Wonder what its worth.... Foot of snow on the ground right now for you people who think I'm saving my car for no reason. I only get 6 months max a year to drive it.

Anyways, no matter what its worth, I wouldn't sell it. My next mod will be a 150 shot of nos, going to break in to the 11's this year at the track.
