Default Cooling fan recall

Last Saturday I was at the dealer for an oil change ( 08 with 38k ) and was told that I had 2 recalls! One is for the cooling fan assembly and other for the leaky fuel gasket ( and at this time there's no fix ).

I still need to go back to have this taken care of. Has anyone else been notified about this cooling fan recall?

On a side note there was another F there with 105k on it getting a starter replaced and they found a manifold with a crack and it's also the same side the starter is on. Service guy told me the owner was looking for headers to install. Oem manifold 1500. for one yikes!

You can look up any vehicle specific recalls using this site: http://www.toyota.com/recall

I am due for the same two recalls; just waiting till they get the fix for the fuel gasket before scheduling an appointment.

I found it funny that mine didn't come up for the gas pedal/software recall. Since I have the full sized gas pedal still, I guess the previous owner never had it done. I can also still brake and gas at the same time

What is interesting is the Service Campaigns are usually limited to vehicles still under warranty. The fan SC is not. I checked TIS and my car with over 100k miles is covered for this. Very unusual. I wish the notchy steering rack was covered this way.

Mine just went in for 50k maintenance this Monday, and was notified about the cooling fan recall as well. The dealer did the oil change and the recall. My dealer said the remedy for the other recall will be out in about two weeks

Can you confirm Joe Z's question. Did they replace the screws or the whole fan assembly?
