It took me 2 BMW's to finally see the light. From one San Diego ex-BMW owner to another, welcome to the Lex Mafia.
I still lurk the BMW Roadfly, Bimmerboard and Bimmerfest boards to see what I've been missing.
Ain't missing much.

I was in the same boat.
Had my mind set on a 2011 M3 Competition package, that was until I started shopping for them. Test drove 3 of them, was not impressed after each drive. I was more impressed with the 2014 F30 335i M Sport surprisingly lol.
Performance wise, straight line the IS-F seems to have a slight edge on the V8 M3's. Around the VIR track, the E90/92 M3's are 8 seconds quicker than a 2008-2010 IS-F, but the updated 2011-2014 IS-F matches it toe to toe with identical lap times.
So I would put it in this order.
Performance wise: 2011+ IS-F = E90/92 M3 > 2008-2010 IS-F

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Instead of M3 turbo issues I should have written BMW turbo issues in general. My mistake relating it to the 2010 M3. I spent and hour going through maintenance costs, parts, performance vs gas mileage vs reliability, recalls etc with my mechanic before I decided to buy the Isf.
Car was listed at 39k I paid 29k for it (dealer is family) another 6k for extended warranty, taxes, license etc.
I definitely need to do more research before I start modding going down that route... I'm still going through the best oil for isf threads. I've read some threads regarding headers, exhaust etc. Biggest concern is CA emissions.
I'll keep an eye out for details on that meet. Looking for a gentleman's meet if anything, not fast and the furious.
Aaaaand I just saw the Isf roll call sticky... My bad.

Welcome and congratulations...sounds like you all but stole that thing ($10k off asking - sheesh!!) - haha The car looks great! Did you or the previous owner tint the tails; or is the lighting playing tricks on me? Between that and the emblems any other mods done?

I see a lot of people repping the VAIS tech IPOD integration module on the forum but I've always used USAspec modules in my cars... this is my first Lexus tho... any opinions?
