Default Started with a Bimmer now Im here...

Nov 1st 2014 I turned my back on a brand that I have been fanatically loyal to all my life. My family is a BMW family, my grandfather, uncles, father all drive BMW's ... I drove BMW's. But regardless I cheated on my BMW wife with an immaculate 2008 Starfire Pearl ISF with 40k miles. On that day I test drove an 2010 M3, a 2011 E350 and the ISF... actually I test drove the ISF 3 times... (left the dealership and came back twice on the same day). In the end my decision came down to:

Performance: ISF is a Naturally Aspirated beast, vs. M3 turbo concerns
Maintenance: ISF reputation is rock solid, My BMW's are constantly in the shop. ABS, Oil leak. Oil burn, Cooling system, transmission FTW!!!!!!

I've been trolling the forum since then trying to get as much info as I can from you guys. This place is a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to getting as much info as I can from you guys. Also interested in So Cal meets, Track Days, etc. I looked around and didn't see anything in regards to a San Diego ISF club or meets (maybe I didn't look hard enough)

Did I mention I love this car.. 25mpg from a V8 that can do 0 - 60 in 4.3 seconds

Performer wise m3 is probably better, but fully concur the f is an amazing mix of daily driver, bullet proof reliability and better looks than a m3 sedan hands down

Welcome . Im one of about 5 ISF owners in San Diego that I normally see. But Im moving to Japan soon. Cars and coffee every Sat morning is a good car meet. Theres other meets but its filled with too many ricers and bs. If you choose to get aftermarket parts installed...hit up HG motorsports or Rnzconcepts.

Welcome to the crew buddy. I am positive that you will see a huge difference in the frequency of unscheduled visits to the dealership for issues. I have heard this story before

I too have made a similar jump. There are more on here with the E90/92 dilemma. But I will be switching back, when the f80's used market becomes more attractive.
