Accidentally Dinged The F Today Any Help
Hey all,
Wish I was writing this post as good news, but I accidentally bumped my aunt's car today while back out of the garage.
The good news is I was just backing the car out of the driveway so I was barely moving. But the right side of my rear bumper and part of the right rear quarter panel were scuffed & there is a shallow dent.
I was able to buff out most of the scuffing, but a few spots stripped the paint.
Looking for some advice on:
1) What body shop to take it to here in Orange County Ca?
2) Rough guesstimate of what the $$$$ damage will be to repair it
3) If its better to order a new bumper and if so if there's any after market ones that users here have or recommend?
I looked up some prices online for replacement bumpers that weren't painted and it was pretty expensive as expected. Ahhh such a bummer, its hard to tell from the pics. Its not that bad, but its definitely noticeable.

I just replaced the rear bumper on my IS-F, it wasn't bad. If you don't want to pay the shipping from sewell print out the pricing and bring it to your local dealer and speak to a parts manager and see if they can price match. My local dealer was $50 more expensive then sewell, that was the best they could do for me but it saved me $150 in shipping so I didn't mind. Painting a brand new rear bumper should run you $200 (if its a simple color like black, I think the other colors all have pearl or metallic flakes in it).

FWIW, I have taken several vehicles to Autobahn over in Costa Mesa. My C6 Corvette was broad-sided by an inattentive soccer-mom in a Yukon back in 2008; the repair was so good you couldn't even tell it had ever been hit, and the paint match remained superb even after 6 years. They do excellent work and they have never reported any of my vehicles to Carfax.
