Thanks man

I'm in the process of doing quite a few things cosmetically. I already did headers, exhaust, and wheels, and carbon fiber side splitters. I just had my body guy respray my bumpers to get rid of a few little blemishes from the previous owner. I just had my headlight housings blacked out on the inside, my brake calipers will be painted a bright yellow pearl, I ordered a Toms rear diffuser (should be here hopefully this week or next), and ordered a Lexon CF rep front lip which should arrive in about a month. I am then also going to lower it once I get my fenders rolled.

wax wont save it. its the clear they use. its usually very cheap single layer clear. this is why i clear coat all cf parts before installing. a good , durable clear is what you need and its cheaper than what you think for labor.

i was scared getting cf versions of this wing because ive seen a rep spoiler non carbon version and saw how wavy the top portion is. you really have to put in the correct time to repair that before painting. so im guessing the carbon version has to be wavy.

It appears wavy from the light reflecting in the pic I posted, it really didn't seem that way in person though. I will re-look at it when I get the car today. As for the clear, I think GM has a clear coat that they use for the ZR1 parts that is supposed to be a really good UV protection that was specifically designed for their carbon fiber. I hear its extremely expensive though. I have access to a body shop whenever so if it fades I will have it resanded and recleared at that time.

I had a bunch of seibon CF products before that were super wavy / dimpled and those were getting prepped and painted so it wasn't too bad. Carbon fiber seems to hide that stuff better then painted versions though, because the texture of the carbon fiber weave under the clear hides it pretty well.

yours doesnt actually look too wavy at all. what i saw was pretty bad, lol. its also a hard piece to manufacture. to make it perfect ready for paint, im sure they would charge more for the product anyways because of time involved.

Can't post updated pics today, there was a delay at the body shop, so I won't have the car until tomorrow

Nice up there. I did a bit of climbing around the Adirondacks. Actually, I grew up on LI. I could see NYC with a light brown haze surround.
